MediFast is a comprehensive telemedicine platform connecting patients with qualified doctors through online consultations, emergency services, and digital prescriptions. We provide affordable and accessible healthcare services to all Ugandans, with special focus on underserved and rural communities.
How do I get started? expand_more
Getting started is easy! Download the MediFast app (iOS & Android), create an account in 60 seconds, and you're ready to book consultations, access medical records, and use all our services. You can also access us via USSD on any phone.
Is MediFast free to use? expand_more
We offer a Free Tier for rural and underserved communities that includes free USSD access, free first-time consultations, subsidized ambulance transport, free medication reminders, and a free AI health chatbot. Premium plans start at UGX 10,000/month.
Do I need a smartphone? expand_more
No! While we have mobile apps for smartphones, we also provide USSD access for feature phones. Dial our USSD code to access consultations, book appointments, and get health information without internet.

MediFast offers: online medical consultations (video, chat, USSD), ambulance and emergency services with GPS tracking, online pharmacy with e-prescriptions, medical records management, appointment booking, referral management, disease surveillance, and an AI-powered health chatbot available 24/7.
How do online consultations work? expand_more
Book a consultation through our app, web, or USSD. Connect with a qualified doctor via video call, chat, or phone. The doctor reviews your symptoms, provides advice, and issues digital prescriptions sent directly to partner pharmacies. All consultations are saved in your medical history.
How does the ambulance service work? expand_more
MediFast operates a GPS-enabled dispatch system with 20 ambulances and 120+ boda-boda riders. When you request an ambulance, our system finds the nearest vehicle, provides ETA, and optimizes the route. Free Tier users pay transport only; Premium users get priority dispatch.
Can I access my medical records? expand_more
Yes! All consultations, prescriptions, test results, and medical history are stored securely in your MediFast account. Access them anytime via app or web. Records are encrypted and only accessible to you and authorized healthcare providers.

Pricing & Payments

What pricing plans are available? expand_more
We offer: Free Tier (UGX 0 — for rural communities), Pay-As-You-Go (variable per service), Premium (UGX 10,000/month — unlimited consultations), and Family Premium (UGX 20,000/month — up to 5 members). Corporate and District Government packages are also available.
How do I pay? expand_more
We accept Mobile Money (MTN, Airtel), credit/debit cards, and bank transfers. Pay-As-You-Go charges at time of service. Premium subscriptions support automatic monthly payments.
Can I switch plans? expand_more
Absolutely! Switch plans at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately (prorated). Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.
What if I can't afford the services? expand_more
No Ugandan is denied healthcare due to cost. Our Free Tier provides essential services at no cost. We also work with NGOs, donors, and government partners to subsidize services. Contact our support team if you need assistance.

Emergency Services

How do I request an emergency ambulance? expand_more
Call our toll-free number 0800 221 110, use the emergency button in the app, or dial our USSD code. Our system immediately dispatches the nearest available ambulance with GPS tracking. Average response time is 15–30 minutes in covered areas.
Is the ambulance service available 24/7? expand_more
Yes! Emergency services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have ambulances and boda-boda riders on standby across our coverage areas.
What should I do in a medical emergency? expand_more
For life-threatening emergencies, call 0800 221 110 immediately. You can also use the emergency feature in the MediFast app to connect directly to our emergency response team. Our AI chatbot provides basic first aid guidance while you wait.

Which districts does MediFast cover? expand_more
We currently focus on Luuka, Kayunga, and Namisindwa, with rapid expansion planned. Check our Roadmap page for the latest coverage areas.
